Skin Screening

Skin cancer screening is designed to look for and detect any potential problem areas on a patient’s skin. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, with one in five Americans developing it in their lifetime. Through skin screening, we will be able to point out any areas you should keep an eye on.

Dr. Hujefa Vora has spent years advising patients of all ages on a wide range of health concerns, including skin cancer and screenings. We believe in educating our patients and giving them the tools to take a proactive approach to their health and wellness. By coming to see us on a regular basis and establishing a partnership with Dr. Vora, we will be able to catch any areas of concern or symptoms before they develop.

About Skin Cancer

Over the years we have learned a lot about the different forms of cancer and how they develop. Skin cancer is so common, for one, because of how much time we spend in the sun unprotected. Early detection and recognition of skin cancer is critical to your recovery and long-term health. By understanding and looking for the early warning signs of skin cancer, you will be helping your future self. Some of these warning signs include:

  • A suspicious change in an existing mole or spot
  • New growth on the skin
  • A sore that does not heal within two weeks

It is imperative you discuss any of the above with Dr. Vora right away. When it comes to skin cancer, early detection is key. The longer you put off seeing a doctor, the more at risk you may be.

Out of the different kinds of skin cancers, the cure rate for BCC and SCC is approximately 95 percent, but melanoma is more deadly. Self-skin exams and an early examination by your physician are the best ways to help individuals detect skin cancer in its early stages.
